The recent wedding of Chris Johnson to Jodie was a real bus family affair.

Chris, an electrician with Arriva London, organised for his guests to be transported to the wedding reception at Rose Hill in Sutton, using The Arriva Heritage Fleet’s recently restored Routemaster RM5. Chris had been responsible for the complete rewiring of the bus.

Two of Chris’s colleagues Grahame Park and Ian Waro, who had also worked on the restoration project, volunteered to drive RM5 for Jodie and Chris on their special day.

Chris’s mum Christine, who has worked in the bus industry for many years, and is currently the Licensing Clerk for Arriva London, was accompanied by her husband Graham, an ex bus driver and a gold badge inspector with 30 years service in the bus industry.

Also in attendance was Chris’s grandfather Don with 20 years bus service and his uncle Kevin with 15 years service.

The guests were taken from the ceremony at Morden registry office to the reception at the Civic centre in Sutton.

Graham, Don and Kevin renewed their Routemaster association with nostalgic visits to RM5’s cab, to remember days gone by.
